Firm expands New York real estate practice as it picks up six-lawyer team from Haynes and Boone.
A group of six lawyers focused on commercial real estate leasing have joined Holland & Knight's New York office. The team includes partners Noah Shapiro, Russ Rabinovich and Lauren Margiano, senior counsel Siobhan Green, and associates Abigail Pugliese and Jennifer Haberman. All previously practiced at Haynes and Boone in New York.
The group represents both landlords and tenants in all aspects of their retail, office and restaurant lease negotiations. They are routinely involved in the largest and most high-profile leasing transactions that take place each year in New York City. Their clients include many of the major players in the real estate industry, including SL Green Realty Corp., L&L Holding Company, Brookfield Office Properties and Fisher Brothers. Joe Guay, the leader of the firm's national Real Estate Section, said ‘we are delighted that Noah, Russ and Lauren have brought their blue-chip commercial real estate leasing practice to Holland & Knight. The addition of this outstanding group of lawyers further expands the services that our New York real estate practice can offer clients, as well as enhances our reputation in this key market.’
Stuart Saft, the leader of Holland & Knight's New York Real Estate Practice Group, added ‘obtaining a significant commercial leasing practice such as Noah, Russ and Lauren's has been a strategic priority for some time. Their practice complements our existing strengths and will be an important driver of our future growth.’ Mr Shaprio explained, ‘Holland & Knight has one of the premier real estate practices nationally and in New York. Russ, Lauren and I believe our clients will benefit from the firm's extensive real estate capabilities, particularly in the areas of real estate, condominiums, land use and construction.’ Holland & Knight's Real Estate Section numbers over 300 lawyers and professionals nationally, making it one of the largest of any US law firm.
