In-house counsel body in South Korea boosts PR efforts as KICA launched new homepage launched.
Korea In-house Counsel Association (KICA) President Lee Wan-keun announced the association had launched a new communication campaign on the back of a revamped website, the homepage of which is designed for PCs and mobile phones, as part of a bid to boost the association’s presence.
The homepage features announcements, recruitment notices and a schedule of news and events for Korean in-house lawyers. It also contains information on internal divisions, community meetings and clubs. There is also space for banners of domestic and foreign law firms, and the “Kakao Talk: Friends of Korean In-house Lawyers” banner. The new homepage also adds a membership payment function, which allows members to conveniently pay membership fees. “Mobile is the most popular communication tool for people these days,” said one KICA member. “The mobile homepage was made with a simple and friendly design so that members may have convenient access. KICA also plans to communicate with members on the new website, instead of using Naver Cafe.” Mr Lee said, “We hope that the launch of the new homepage will promote PR of our association and foster communication among our members.”
KICA also held its 2019 workshop, which consisted of a leadership lecture, an asset management lecture, speeches and “friendship time.” Mr Lee said, “The dedication and encouragement of the members have been the driving force behind the growth of the in-house counsel association. I appreciate the passion of the members who participated, and will work to make an even more meaningful event next year.” Earlier this year, the Seoul Bar Association’s chairman, Park Jong-woo, and KICA’s President Lee co-opened an In-house lawyer mentoring programme at Seoul Seocho-dong. The event was designed to couple a mentee attorney who wants to work as an in-house lawyer and a mentor attorney who has worked for a company, to exchange information on the working environment of in-house lawyers and other in-house issues.
